Hernandez Joins National Policy Institute on Energy
Councilman Gene Hernandez Joined Former U.S. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar and Other Latino Policymakers for National Policy Institute on Energy
Two-day event equipped Gene and more than 50 other Latino officials with the skills needed to address our nation’s current and future energy needs
Long Beach, CA. – Council Member Gene Hernandez joined the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) Educational Fund, the nation’s preeminent Latino leadership organization, and more than 50 Latino elected and appointed officials from across the country for the group’s National Policy Institute on Energy .
The two-day Institute, held in Long Beach, Calif., featured opening remarks from Former U.S. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar. During the Institute, Hernandez and other participants had the opportunity to engage with national, regional and industry experts, private sector representatives and other key stakeholders who helped deepen their understanding of the most pressing energy policy issues facing the nation today.
“One of the most significant challenges facing elected officials remains reliable, clean, and inexpensive renewable energy,” stated Councilman Hernandez. “This will be our legacy to future generations of Americans”
NALEO Educational Fund’s National Policy Institute on Energy also provided Councilman Hernandez and other Latino policymakers with the opportunity to network with colleagues and experts from throughout the country as they discussed various policy approaches for meeting our nation’s current and future energy needs.
